Despite what it may look like from the state of this blog I have not dropped off the edge of the Earth- I am just not currently designing scrapbooking materials anymore. I have, however, been put into Young Women's in my ward and was asked to make a poster with the 2011 Theme. I realize the year is almost over- but someone else out there might find this useful or want it. I have included links to download the poster in 3 different sizes. Birthdays are always an exciting time. Growing up I had a unique experience, because I always had to share my birthday with my twin brother. Luckily we had an awesome Mom who always made us feel like it was our own special day. She always made 2 birthday cakes (even when we would request the same kind!) and there were always birthday banners awaiting us when we would wake up that morning. Of course my favorite part about birthdays in my house growing up, was that we got to eat the leftover birthday cake the next morning for breakfast! :) And with two birthday cakes, there was always leftovers.

Retirement Sale

When I first made my family tree template I didn't have pictures of my great-grandparents and so I just did one without any pictures. But I know there are a lot of people out there who do have pictures and so I have updated the template to include spots for photos now. This template is a great addition to any baby book, or even makes a great gift printed and framed. Head on over to the store and grab it!

Please remember that this template is made to be used in a photo-editing program such as Photoshop. If you would like a template that can be used in Microsoft Word you can purchase my original template here. This template does not have spots for photos.

The moment I have been thinking about a lot is the day that we brought our son home from the hospital after his birth. It was such an overwhelming feeling to bring this tiny little boy home and know that he was totally dependent on me for everything he needed. I was so nervous that I wouldn't know what to do for him but then for one moment I just held him close to me and I felt a tremendous amount of love and joy along with the most comforting feeling that it would all work out. That was the moment that everything in my life really changed- from then on I would always be a mother.

All About Photos Mega Template Pack

Back when my son was born I wanted a quick and easy way to get all those pictures of him scrapped. I was working on a baby book for him which I had 2 pages for each month- on the 2nd page I wanted to just show as many pictures as I could. To help myself out I created this set of templates. I LOVE how much easier they made the project and I feel like they really let the pictures speak for themselves. Besides being great for a baby album- these templates are great for any project where you've got a lot of pictures you want to show off. There's 12 of them- so they would be perfect for a year in review too.

New Release Day- Bright Lights Kit and Alpha

Last September I went on a girls only trip to NY with my Mother in law and 2 of my sisters in law. It was such a fun trip and ever since then I have been wanting to make a kit to scrap all those pictures with. Well I finally got it done and I am SO excited about it. This kit is full of really fun bright colors and yes it is full of New York elements, but don't let that stop you if you've never been. The kit is also full of things that can be used for NON-NY pages. Just look at what my CT has created:

But of course you can always use it for some great New York pages too....

I've also got a brand new coordinating alpha going up in the shop today too. I wanted a glitter alpha that was a bit more realistic- I mean have you ever tried to glue glitter on anything? You never end up with a clean line- so that's what you've got here.

New Templates and a Freebie!!

Happy Friday everyone! I know some of you might have thought I quit designing because it has been so long since I have released anything- but I am happy to report that I am starting to feel better and I am so excited to be getting new products out to you. Today I have got a MAJOR one for you- and of course a freebie! :)
This set of templates aren't new to some of you who have been my faithful blog readers- but I have gone through and resized them so they are now all 12x12. This set is awesome when you have got a whole trip- or big batch of pictures that you want to get done fast. Case in point I put together an entire Shutterfly book for my parents of our recent family reunion and I got it done in 2 DAYS!! (Which was really good because I had a free book code that was expiring in 3 days!!) I just used these templates and an adorable kit I got from WM [squared] Designs and I was off. I have to apologize for my long absence but I have a good reason for it- I happen to be 14 weeks along with baby #2!!! I am very excited about the baby that is coming in July, but unfortunately it has made me feel pretty sick for the last 2 months or so, hence the reason things have been pretty quiet around here. Luckily though I am now in my 2nd trimester and while I still am sick sometimes, I can actually stand to be on the computer again. :) To celebrate I have a new element pack hitting the ScrapMatters store today and my special blog readers can get it for FREE!!

Friday- New Release Day and BIG news!!

It's Friday- which means it's new release day over at ScrapMatters and have I got something fun to share with you. Some of you may remember this kit- but this time it's back and it's been "digitally re-mastered" )as the Disney folk like to say) ;) - basically I've gone in and added some new really fun stuff. This is by far my favorite kit to date- you can't beat these fun colors. So click on the image and go check out my "new" kit Whimsy .

Purple Tulip Designs has joined Facebook! It seems to be the new hot thing right now, and actually I am really excited about the possibles it gives me for interacting with all of you. So head on over to the page by clicking HERE and while you're there become a fan. I've got a great freebie in the works for all my fans- so don't wait!

PART 2-
Purple Tulip Designs is now S4H/S40 friendly!! What does that mean you ask? You can now use my products to create individual CUSTOM products for people without having to purchase a commercial license. Everything you create must be custom to each customer (i.e. that means 2 different customers can't buy the same layout with just different pictures, or use the same blog background) and they must receive their goods in a flattened format- either printed or in a non-editable digital form. If you have any questions as to what this means just shoot me an email at purpletulipdesigns.sb (at) gmail (dot) com. You can also download the newly updated TOU HERE.

After a long 2 and half days of driving from Utah we finally made it to Minneapolis. We only brought what we could fit in our car since we are only going to be here until August- so the first few days in our apartment were "interesting" but after a few days of garage sales and searching craigslist we have a fairly livable apartment again. I am also very excited to have Internet finally up and running again too- so hopefully you'll be seeing some more from me soon.

Design Star Results

Well after 2 VERY long months the design competition at ScrapMatters is over- and while I am really proud to say I made it to the top 10- that's as far as I went. :( While I am really sad that I didn't make it on- I am happy that I will get to be a CT member for them. :) So look for me hanging out over there a lot more now days.

Things have also been busy around here as I am trying to pack up our tiny apartment as we head to Minneapolis for the summer for my husband to do an internship there. I am really excited- both to have an income and to see a new city! Now I just need to figure out how I can pack everything I need into a Ford Focus! :) In the meantime I realized that it's been a while since I have shared a template with you- so here you go! As usual I have included 3 sizes of the template: 12x12, 8.5x11 and 11x8.5. I hope you all enjoy it-

Build A Tag Set

I've been busy creating a new template set (look for it here next week) and I kept needing all sorts of different tags, and got the idea to create a tag set where you can build your own tag. I've included various tag "templates" that you can then fill with your favorite paper and finish them off with various hardware such as eyelets, strings, brads, etc. Now you don't have to worry about finding that "perfect" tag for your page, you can just create it! My CT member Kayla has made you another holiday freebie that is SO cute! This quick page comes in 3 sizes: 12x12, 8.5x11, and 11x8.5. Also Kayla has made them as layer mask quick pages- which I think is such a great idea. Don't you hate it when you have a quick page with multiple spots for pictures and when you put your pics in parts of the photos show up in the frames? Well Kayla solved this problem by putting in layer masks which you use just like the shapes in a template. Such a great idea! Taking a little break...

Hey digital family - sorry for the lack in posts recently, I thought I should probably give you a little update. My husband and I just decided to move across country (from Tennessee) back home to Utah to be near our families, and for my husband to go to school. Because of the sudden decision, things have been a little crazy around here. We're planning on moving out the end of the month, so as you can imagine, there hasn't been much time for computer time around here, let alone designing. I just wanted to let you know that I hadn't dropped off the ends of the earth, I'm just taking a little break for a few weeks. I hope to back in September with new stuff, and of course- FREEBIES! :) In the meantime, feel free to check back in, who knows, a freebie may show up randomly when I am avoiding my packing duties! :) Take care and happy scrappin!

I finally made it back! Hurray! I had such a wonderful trip, despite the horribleness that is being on a plane by yourself with an almost 2 year old! Because I have just gotten back, I do not have any freebies today, but I thought I would share with you a layout I did one night while my sisters and I were scrappin. A little delayed, but pages to share!

As the title suggests, my trip got a little delayed. I was supposed to fly out this morning on a buddy pass, but after getting up at 6 am and heading to the airport with my 19 month old in tow, we didn't make the flight. There were probably 13 people waiting to get on the flight, and only 7 open seats. After talking to 2 girls who had been trying to get on a flight since Sunday, I decided to just bite the bullet and buy a ticket. So my dear sweet friend came and picked me and my son up and brought us home. Now we get to go back to the airport tomorrow, but at least this time we've got a ticket! :)
Since I already got all my packing and chores done yesterday, today I can share with you some fun pages that have been created using my latest stuff.
This first page was created by my awesome CT member Kayla (my only CT member- looking to change that in the future, so if you are interested, keep your eyes open) she created this page using one of my bracket album templates. Instead of using the template to make an album, she used it on a regular layout. I LOVE that idea. You can see her credits and give her some love here. This 2nd page was the reason for the strawberry freebie. My friend Brittany created it using this template and of course the strawberries and the alpha from the last freebie. This only like her 5th digital page that she has finished, isn't it cute? She did an awesome job.

I realized that I have been kind of sporadic about my freebies around here, and I thought that it would be fun to make things a little more predictable. So I have decided to start Freebie Fridays! (I know a really original title!) Despite the predictable title- I hope to share with you some very fun things! And so to kick things off this week I have not only ONE freebie but TWO! How great is that? The first one is this adorable quick page: In honor of the holiday- I thought that I would turn one my favorite layouts into a quick page to share with you all. The page is 12x12 or 11x8.5 and was created using my Too Cute Girl kit, and the great thing about it, is it's perfect for Easter, but really can be used for lots of pages.

1st Year Baby Book Template Set

If you love the 1st Year Baby Books but would rather customize your own, grab this handy set of templates.
The templates include two 8"x8" files. One page to keep notes for three different categories:
What I Am- Here you would put things like the baby's weight and height.
What I Do- List all of your baby's accomplishments for the month here, or list what they are doing day to day (i.e. how much they are eating, sleeping, etc.)
What's Happened- Did your baby get their first tooth? Did you go on a vacation? What about the 1st babysitter? You can list all of those right here.
This page also has a spot for a picture of the baby from that month. The picture can either be added before or after printing. The second page in the album is a blank calendar where you can fill in special events (like the day of the first step), or trips, etc.
This album would also make a great Baby shower gift!

Below is an example of a book I made as a gift using the templates and the "Catch a Star" kit by Digital Design Essentials. I had the pages printed out at Kinkos and then adhered them to a scalloped edge chipboard album by Basic Gray.
